By gaining a better understanding of common interests and challenges, locally and across the country, Labor and Management can establish methods and best practices to enhance the economic growth and competitiveness of the unionized masonry industry.

The collaboration of Labor and Management is an ongoing initiative for all stakeholders; contractors, union, craftworkers and the general public.

WINTER CLUSTER MEETINGS

 

⇒ INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF EMPLOYERS (ICE) BOARD MEETING

ICE is the only wholly union international masonry contractors’ association, representing approximately 3,000 signatory contractors who perform, brick, block, stone, tile, marble, terrazzo, cement masonry, plastering and restoration work.  ICE and its affiliated entities engage in labor management dialogues with the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) and its local unions in the United States and Canada.

Members and officers of ICE and officers of the BAC are committed to working harmoniously for collective bargaining and to increase work opportunities for contractors and BAC craftworkers.

 JOINT LABOR-MANAGEMENT SESSIONS

As partners, Labor and Management share a common interest in the growth and success of our industry.  These sessions provide insightful information to identify challenges in the industry to expand the trade and find ways to join efforts in promoting the industry.  Past presentations included:

  • Apprentice Survey Results and Comparisons
  • Composition of Today’s Workforce and Understanding the Work Values of Different Generations
  • Training Veterans for Jobs in Construction

 

 CRAFT COMMITTEES

Each of the BAC Crafts, Brick and Block, Cement and Concrete, Plaster, Restoration, Stone, Tile-Marble Terrazzo, have committees  representing them which are comprised of appointed union, contractor and association representatives. Past presentations included:

 These Winter Cluster Meetings are attended by contractors, association and union representatives from across the US and Canada.

⇒ EPIC CONFERENCE

EPIC is an annual educational conference hosted by Investment Performance Services, Inc. LLC (Investment Consulting Firm for the NJ BAC ADC Locals 4 & 5 Funds) that provides benefit trustees, business owners, investment staff and professionals with an opportunity to gain valuable education and insight into investment objectives and provides a venue to learn about the opportunities, risks, and challenges in today’s marketplace.

The Association’s Executive Director Carol Ciesielski and its appointed Trustees that serve on the Health and Pension Funds have the opportunity to hear from, and engage with, industry experts. They also share knowledge with their peers and receive legal and regulatory updates to identify ways to improve the fund benefits.

The Association is committed to working with our union partners in efforts to provide a higher standard of benefits for Health & Welfare and Pension beneficiaries.
