Stop-Work Order Issued to South River Contractor for Violations at Keansburg Job Site

TRENTON – The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) issued a stop-work order to Galo Contractors Group, LLC, on March 9 for six alleged violations at a worksite in Keansburg.

Galo Contractors Group, headquartered in South River, was working on a project at Keansburg Boardwalk West when the NJDOL performed site inspections on March 4 and March 5, during which time workers reported the alleged violations.

Pennsylvania Charges Contractor With $20-Million Prevailing Wage Violation

As part of a state crackdown on prevailing wage theft and worker misclassification, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro has charged Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc., a longtime state Dept. of Transportation contractor with four counts of theft for allegedly diverting $20 million from hourly craft worker pensions from 2015 to 2018 to profitsharing funds for other employees and top managers of the company.

TRENTON – Three Sons Restoration LLC of Union was assessed approximately $2.75 million in back wages, penalties, and fees following a New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) investigation into the contractor’s failure to pay its employees the state prevailing wage at six job sites.
